My Hero by Optisafe is a patented technology product which will get you the help you need in any unforeseen distress situation. This security device uses a simple pull mechanism for activation, making it fast and convenient to notify an emergency to your family members. Just pull out the device from the cover to activate a loud distress siren on the device, your smartphone and your pre-defined contacts, also the device sends SOS message to 3 pre-defined contacts with your live location and link for videos. The videos are recorded from your mobile devices front camera in spy mode. The location link opens up a live location tracker that the recipient can use to navigate to your location. OptiSafe Mobile app is available on Google Play as well as App Store, you can simply download and pair your OptiSafe device using Bluetooth. My Hero does not require any charging as this uses disposable coin cell batteries which is likely to last over 6 months. The Optisafe companion App gives an alert of low battery once the battery strength falls to below 20%.

1. How does MyHero work?
MyBuddy connects over Bluetooth with Smartphone (IOS & Android) and uses the power of Smartphone to drive location, audio/video recording and SOS communication to three predefined numbers. User needs to download OptiSafe Mobile app which is available for Android and iOS. The device consumes low power and assures a long battery life. If the smart phone is turned off, the Bluetooth connection will be broken, so you cannot use the device.
2. Can I stop the device from emitting an alert sound?
Yes, you can stop the alert sound by switching off alarm in the Optisafe App.
3. How do I know if its normal to use in an emergency?
When a GREEN light is emitted after pressing the button in Optisafe MyHero, it signifies that the device is working. Similarly, if Bluetooth gets disconnected then the device emits RED light.
4. Does the Optisafe MyHero device itself emit a warning sound?
Yes, the device generates a 90dB alert sound when the cap is pulled in an emergency.
5. Do I have to attach GPS to check the location?
Yes, if you don’t attach GPS on your smart phone, you won’t be able to trace the location of your smart phone and it won’t be able to send your live location to SOS contacts during emergency as well.
6. How long does the battery last?
Usually, the battery lasts for 4-5 months. The device also indicates when the battery is less than 20%.
7. Which smartphone models cannot be paired with the device?
Bluetooth 4.0 and above communication works only on smart phones with smooth Android 5.0 lollipop and IOS 9.0 and above.
8. Can the device be given to someone else?
Yes, it is possible to transfer the device once it has been removed from the Optisafe app. (Optisafe main screen>Settings>Select the “Delete Device” at the bottom of the screen and delete the device.).
9. For how long is the audio and video stored with Optisafe?
Your recordings will be saved for 30 days after which it will be automatically removed from Optisafe.
10. After an SOS has been triggered, for how long is the live location data shared?
Once SOS is triggered, after every 30 seconds for continuously 30 minutes your live location is shared.
11. How many SOS contacts can be configured?
Maximum 3 SOS contacts can be configured.
12. Can I pair the device with 2 or more smart phones?
No, one MyBuddy device can be paired only with one Account or Smart phone.
13. Will the ringer alert work in case my smart phone is muted?
Yes, it will work even your handset set at Silent or Mute profile. But this function works only for Android smart phones.
