Bauerfeinds RhizoLoc Thumb Support is designed to provide effective care, support and protection to the thumb to keep it properly aligned and pain-free. It effectively helps stabilize the carpometacarpal and metacarpophalangeal joint of the thumb after injuries to the lateral ligaments, surgery, and in cases of osteoarthritis. It has an individually adaptable aluminum stay which stabilizes the thumb saddle and metacarpophalangeal joint. This allows for optimal healing of the affected collateral ligaments. It has a special Velcro tab can be adjusted in order to limit the movement of the metacarpophalangeal joint and to immobilize it as treatment requires. The orthosis is opened via Velcro fasteners and can be easily put on and taken off with one hand. The strap ends with an integrated pull-back stop device allow the fastenings to be secured quickly and without much effort. With it's easy to open & close Velcro fastenings, the orthosis can easily be put on and taken off by the patient. It keeps the thumb in an anatomically correct and comfortable position for effective and quick therapy. It helps treat tears or sprain to the collateral ligaments, indications of osteoarthritis and helps in stabilizing the thumb saddle and metacarpophalangeal joint.
