Tagore modernised Bengali art by spurning rigit classical forms and resisting linguistic strictures. His songs are known as rabindrasangeet, which merges fluidly into his literature. Influenced by the thumri style of Hindustani music, they ran the entire gamut of human emotion and the songs emulated the tonal colour of classical ragas to varying extents and included influences from Western, Hindustani and other external influences. This music card features artists such as Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta, Santanu Roychowdhury, Indrani Sen, Lopa Mudra and many more.
