The Yogi of Walden Henry David Thoreau - Sundara Bharadwaj
This excellent well written book fulfils it's claim to achieve as it's subtitle says, Bridging the philosphies of East and West. In this detailed study the author succintly pinpoints,in Thoreau's writings how the American Transcendantalists,of which Thoreau, along with his famous mentor Ralph Waldo Emerson, were all greatly influenced by the Hindu scriptures, particularly the Bhagavadgita and the Principal Upanishads. Henry Thoreau in Walden wrote directly of his great debt to Vedic thought.About the Author
